Kelda Group PLC announces that the Aquarion acquisition has been duly completed

Kelda Group plc ('Kelda') announces that the acquisition by its US subsidiary, Aquarion, of five American Water Works subsidiaries in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire, which was announced in August 2001, has been duly completed. This follows receipt of all US federal and state regulatory approval. The consideration as at completion was US$120 million plus the assumption of US$104 million of debt.
