Kelda Group plc ('Kelda') announces that on 29 March, Aquarion Company, its US subsidiary, completed the sale of approximately 15,300 acres of watershed land to the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, for preservation as open space. Kelda announced in February 2001 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding to sell the land with the Governor of the State of Connecticut, and this completes that transaction.
The consideration is $90m, of which $85m was received on completion. The balance of $5m will be received within 12 months of completion.
