Kelda announces today that it has sold its subsidiary White Rose Environmental Ltd to a new company, White Rose Environmental (Holdings) Ltd, for an undisclosed sum.
There are a number of administrative matters associated with the decoupling of the business from Kelda, which are anticipated to be finalised by the end of January 2001.
The net proceeds of the sale will be used to reduce Kelda's debt.
White Rose is a national operation specialising in the collection and disposal of clinical and other sensitive wastes and is regarded as a market leader within the clinical waste market, having the most extensive network of privately-run incinerators in the UK.
It employs staff of over 430 and, as at March 31, 2000, had net assets of £22.5 million.
